Review: A Night of Unforgettable Elegance at Jopac’s ‘Ethereal Blossoms’ Collection

On October 20th, 2023, I had the privilege of attending an exclusive fashion event in Lagos where Temitayo Joseph Mesagan, the creative director of Jopac, unveiled his stunning collection titled Ethereal Blossoms.

The venue was private and minimalist, with soft lighting and neutral-toned walls that provided the perfect backdrop for the bold and intricate designs that were about to unfold.
The evening began with an extravagant entrance of black designs, which immediately set the tone for the collection.

One of the most striking pieces featured oversized floral embellishments in vibrant yellow and pink fabric, boldly adorning the front of a sleek black dress.

The sculptural nature of the flowers gave the outfit an almost artistic quality, capturing the essence of contemporary fashion while also paying homage to African craftsmanship. It was an impactful start to the evening, where fashion truly became a work of art.


Then, the show transitioned into a series of bold red and white gowns that spoke to the romantic side of the collection. The red dress, with its voluminous puffed sleeves and full skirt, exuded a sense of regality and grace, while the white gown, featuring billowing sleeves and a flowy silhouette, offered a softer and more ethereal vibe. Both pieces captured a perfect balance of elegance and drama, with each gown inviting a different kind of admiration.


The collection then shifted to hues of mint green and pink, both of which featured sculptural floral accents that appeared to bloom right out of the fabric.

The pink dress stood out with its sleek off-shoulder top and perfectly tailored trousers, radiating femininity and poise.

The mint green counterpart had a similar structure, but with a more ethereal, dreamy quality, owing to its delicate fabric and flowing form. The floral motifs on both pieces made them unforgettable, striking a perfect balance between modern luxury and traditional African influences.


The final piece of the evening was an emerald green gown that completely captivated me. With its structured corset, intricate beading along the neckline, and a velvet skirt that trailed elegantly behind, this gown had a regal air.

The high slit allowed the model to move with such confidence, and the fan she held added a sense of glamour that felt so right for the piece. It was a standout moment in the show, embodying both strength and beauty.


The models, with their impeccable poise and confidence, truly brought the collection to life. The intimate setting and expertly curated designs made this an unforgettable night, one that cemented Jopac as a brand to watch in the world of fashion.
