The Africa Fashion Week London, AFWL, which was held from October 27, culminated on the 29th, with the Black History and Lifestyle Awards.
Held at the Institute of Directors IoD London, in collaboration with AFWL, the event was aimed at recognizing the achievements of Africans, both on their home soil and in the diaspora.

The evening was a blend of style, culture, and a profound sense of purpose. It began with social media influencers Enioluwa Official and Priscilla Ajoke Ojo, welcoming guests on the red carpet, while distinguished hosts for the proceedings were ace Comedian, Ali Baba and Eva Newlove (Nana Yaa Birago).
Founder, Black History and Lifestyle Awards, BHLS, Sade Balogun said, her mission is to document the contributions of individuals who are bridging the gap between Africa and the rest of the world. “It also highlights the rich cultural heritage, the triumphs, the adversities and the invaluable roles these individuals play in addressing the challenges faced by the global black community and black-owned businesses.”

The night featured Awards presentations to deserving personalities who have distinguished themselves in their chosen career.
There was a catwalk showcase by renowned Nigerian, London-based Designer Soboye, the Adire Oodua Textile hub and the House of Sota.
The event also saw engaging performances by drummers, dance acts from Explicit Dancers, and comedy jabs by Ali Baba, while five lucky winners received a star prize worth £250, via a raffle draw, courtesy- The Meat & Wine Co. South Africa.
As the night wound down, the event presented the perfect opportunity to reconnect with old friends, establish new connections and meet individuals who are shaping the future of African fashion.
