Celebrating Ankara: A Deep Dive into the HOI X B&F Collection by House Of Iveshead

House of Iveshead continues to celebrate Ankara fabrics through its collections, with the HOI X B&F collection being a prime example. This collection introduces a range of designs that showcases Beatrice’s signature blend of traditional African prints with modern aesthetics.

Each piece highlights a unique approach to colour, pattern, silhouette, and styling, solidifying House of Iveshead’s reputation as a brand that innovates while staying deeply connected to cultural heritage.

Jumpsuits remain a classic fashion choice thanks to their versatility and ease of styling. They seamlessly transition between casual and dressy looks, making them perfect for a range of events.

House of Iveshead capitalizes on this with its Mani Jumpsuit, which features a vibrant green hue that evokes a sense of nature. The strapless design and fitted waist create a structured silhouette, which can be flattering but may not suit every body type.

The strapless cut also makes this jumpsuit a perfect choice for warmer weather, as it allows for ease of movement and keeps you cool.

The fabric’s lightweight and breathable nature enhances its suitability for summer events. Additionally, the jumpsuit’s design makes it better suited for formal occasions.

Similarly, the Ruffled Step Dress immediately catches the eye with its vibrant blue hue. The whimsical floral pattern, featuring leaves, adds dynamic and nature-inspired beauty. The tiered ruffles contribute to the dress’s silhouette, adding volume and movement, suggesting a playful yet elegant aesthetic.

This dress is particularly suitable for social events where making a fashion statement is desired. Nevertheless, the tiered ruffles, while elegant, might not flatter all body types, potentially limiting its universal appeal.

Another notable piece is the Chandelier Dress, featuring a colourful and intricate pattern that draws immediate attention. The mix of geometric shapes, florals, and abstract elements creates a lively and expressive look. The flowing silhouette and length make it versatile for various occasions.

This dress could be styled as a statement piece, where accessories and hairstyle choices would play a crucial role in enhancing the overall look.

However, the busy pattern may overwhelm some wearers, making it challenging to accessorize without clashing.
The Red Wine Dress features a vibrant and intricate geometric pattern in bold red, white, and green hues, making it visually striking.

The geometric design adds a contemporary touch, while the colour combination exudes confidence and liveliness. Designed as a sleeveless, flared dress, it offers both elegance and ease of movement, making it an excellent choice for events where comfort and style are equally valued.

The flared silhouette enhances the dress’s flow, while the sleeveless cut adds a touch of chic refinement. The colour combination is both vibrant and assertive, capturing attention while conveying a sense of confidence.

To keep the focus on the dress itself and allow its intricate pattern to stand out, it’s best to pair it with minimal accessories.

Lastly, the Blue Viney Dress features a blue and white pattern that exudes a sense of calm. The dress is designed with a long, flowing silhouette that enhances its graceful and effortless elegance.

It is ideal for those who appreciate a refined and understated style.

However, while the serene pattern offers a classic elegance, it may come across as somewhat simplistic when compared to the more vibrant pieces in the collection, potentially making it less memorable.

The HOI X B&F collection by House of Iveshead exemplifies Beatrice Omere’s talent for integrating traditional Ankara prints with modern fashion elements.

The use of bold colours, intricate patterns, and varied silhouettes ensures that the collection offers something for everyone while pushing the boundaries of what Ankara fabric can represent in contemporary fashion.

Nonetheless, some designs might benefit from additional detailing to enhance their impact and ensure they flatter a wider range of body types.
