The much-anticipated GTCO Food and Drink Fair kicked off today with great excitement and enthusiasm from visitors and exhibitors alike. The event, which is helding at the GTCentre Oniru, Victoria Island Lagos, is a three-day festival that celebrates the rich and diverse culinary landscape of the country.

In keeping with the long-standing tradition of Africa’s most prestigious culinary event, the occasion was filled with cooking demonstrations, samplings of delectable cuisine, and live music performances. This created an ideal setting for food enthusiasts and music aficionados to revel in a lively and joyous atmosphere.

There were interesting sights with a wide variety of local and international cuisine on display. From traditional Nigerian dishes such as jollof rice and pounded yam to exotic international flavors like sushi and pasta, there was something to suit every taste bud. Visitors were also treated to a range of delicious street food, including suya, grilled fish, barbecue, bole and fish, cowleg delicacy amongst others.

One of the major highlights of day one was the Kids Baking Masterclass, led by renowned chef Uche Annie Uzoka, which was a particular hit with young visitors. Children were given the opportunity to learn the basics of baking, from mixing ingredients to decorating their creations. Chef Ugoka provided guidance and support, ensuring that each child left the masterclass with a newfound love for baking.
With day two and three still to come, there’s no doubt that this event has continued to evolve as highlight of the Africa’s food and drink scene.
