Sexuality in marriages can change over time, but love making does not have to rut or get boring especially in a long-term relationship like marriage.

Your Intimate relationship should actually get better with years; becoming more satisfying because you know each other’s likes, dislikes, habits, and preferences.

However, life happens with children, finances, work, stress, house chores and other life issues that can dampen your romance, or even, worsen marital sexuality problems.

These regular issues can interfere with both your desire for sex and lack of time to put in the effort. This is one major reason you must never put sex last on the to-do list.

There are a number of ways to prioritise sex in marriage and keep it exciting at the same time.
The strategies listed below can help you have an active and healthy sex life as they constitute key ingredients in your union.

★Trust: Build and maintain a foundation of trust by being reliable, honest and committed. Work through conflicts together and prioritise loyalty and fidelity.

★Emotional connection- Make it a priority to understand and support one another’s emotions, needs and desires. Practise active listening and empathy.

★Self-Care- Make your physical, mental and emotional wellness a priority, by indulging in activities that promote overall health and happiness.

★Intimacy- Cultivate emotional closeness by being vulnerable, supportive, and present for each other. Indulge in activities that foster connection like shared hobbies or meaningful conversations.

★Communication- Openly discuss your desires, needs and boundaries with your spouse. Don’t hold back, share your thoughts, feelings and fantasies, to create a deeper understanding, clarity and connection. Talk often and keep conversation lines open to help address any sexual situations to avoid it taking a toll on your relationship.

★Surprise and Spontaneous- Keep things fresh and exciting with surprise gestures and spontaneous intimate moments such as, sudden kisses or playful touch.

★Foreplay- Invest in quality foreplay, teasing and building sexual anticipation. Explore the different types of touch; @ gentle, caressing or erotic massage.

★Romance- Regularly surprise each other with small intimate gestures like, candlelight dinners, flowers or thoughtful notes. Make time for romantic getaways and a surprise weekend.

★Make a plan- Life gets busy; planning for sexual intimacy is paramount. Planning sex can be quite exciting, spontaneous sex is even more exciting.
Set aside dedicated time for intimacy, making it a priority in your busy schedules.

★Initiate love making- Stop expecting your lover to be solely responsible for romance. The following tips can help you initiate sex more often without feeling awkward:

Hold hands, show affection, invest in simple intimate acts likes giving long embrace, kiss, hand or foot massage can help you connect and build intimacy and signal to your partner that you want to be laid.

★Sexploration- Get to try new experiences, desires, and interests together like, exploring new sexual positions or engaging in sensual massages.

★Sensuality- Try focusing on sensory experiences like slow touch, intimate massages or sensual kissing including exploring different textures, temperatures, and sensations.

★Exercise- Regular exercise and eating healthy will give you the needed energy for any activity. There’s a tendency that workouts can help make sex more stimulating and pleasurable.

Finally, it’s okay to seek professional help/therapy. This can be very effective in figuring out strategies for improving sex and intimacy.
There are always available options for getting back on track to spice things up if your sex life ever hit a snag!
