John Creatives, a fashion brand known for its refined and innovative designs, made an unforgettable statement at the Uyo Fashion Week 2024 by unveiling the “Modern Mint” collection—a fresh approach to minimalist elegance that goes beyond colour and dives into a philosophy of style.

While the collection is not strictly defined by mint as a colour, the collection embraced a philosophy, representing a style that is timeless, bold, and refreshingly new.

The Modern Mint Collection, designed by Johnfaith Oladapo Rosiji, the founder and creative force behind John Creatives, brought together elements of boldness and simplicity, presenting a modern aesthetic that felt timeless yet contemporary. Each piece showcased Johnfaith’s dedication to crafting luxurious yet accessible designs that resonate with confidence and sophistication.

The Uyo Fashion Week third edition, which was held from 20th to 22nd September, 2024, was a spectacular event that provided a dynamic platform for homegrown fashion designers to present their creations to a wider audience that included fashion enthusiasts, industry experts, business leaders, and policy drivers.

In this competitive and vibrant setting, John Creatives stood out with a collection that captured the spirit of the event—elevating Nigerian fashion with pieces that redefined elegance.

For this collection, Johnfaith worked with premium fabrics, including cotton, cotton blends, satin, and cashmere fabrics, creating luxurious and versatile pieces. The collection includes flowing gowns of varying lengths, kaftans, senator wears, shirts, trousers, and stylish two-piece sets with each design to enhance the wearer’s elegance and individuality.

His colour palette ranged widely across vibrant hues like green, orange, red, light blue, mint, white, and pink, adding depth and dynamism to the minimalist aesthetic that defines his work.

The runway show was a sight to behold, with models showcasing these stylish pieces with elegance and poise. One of the standout pieces was a flowing, satin green gown that captivated the audience with its sleek, minimalistic cut and shimmering fabric. The gown flowed gracefully down the runway, each step accentuating its bold elegance.

In another notable look, a contemporary kaftan in earthy orange paired with crisp white showcased John’s innovative approach to classic designs. This two-tone kaftan had clean lines that gave it a modern touch, while its structured form brought a fresh perspective to traditional wear, resonating deeply with the show’s audience.

The reaction to John Creatives’ Modern Mint collection was overwhelmingly positive. Fashion enthusiasts, critics, and industry insiders commended Johnfaith’s ability to blend simplicity with sophistication. The audience was particularly struck by the designer’s skillful use of colour and fabric to elevate everyday wear, bringing a bold and modern flair to minimalist design.

Each piece felt like a statement, embodying Johnfaith’s vision of elegance in a way that was both accessible and inspiring.

One outfit at a time, John Creatives expressed a clear vision of elegance, with each piece building upon his reputation for quality craftsmanship and modern aesthetics, setting a new standard for refined, minimalist fashion.

This collection marks yet another chapter in Johnfaith’s journey to raise the bar for sophistication and innovation in Nigerian fashion, leaving a lasting impression at one of the region’s most anticipated fashion events, with the audience eagerly anticipating what Johnfaith will bring next to the fashion scene.
