PSI Releases Powerful Short Film, Music Tackle Menstrual Health
A new campaign combining music, film, and advocacy is aiming to break the silence surrounding menstrual health and hygiene (MHH).

Population Services International (PSI) Nigeria, in collaboration with Afrobeats superstar Yemi Alade and a host of Nollywood stars, has launched a powerful short film and a new music single to raise awareness and drive change.
The short film, titled “Time of the Month,” features a stellar cast including Aisha Lawal, Liquorose Afije, Mary Remmy Njoku, Oge Okoye, Ibrahim Suleiman, IK Ogbonna, Mike Ezuruonye, Femi Branch. The film is a cinematic masterpiece that blends storytelling and music to tackle the often-stigmatized topic of menstruation.
Yemi Alade’s new single, also titled “Time of the Month,” is a catchy and empowering tune that celebrates womanhood and addresses the challenges faced by many women during their menstrual cycle.

PSI Nigeria’s MH-NoW program aims to improve menstrual health and hygiene through local production of affordable menstrual products, comprehensive menstrual education, and policy advocacy for subsidized menstrual products.
This campaign is a significant step towards achieving these goals.
