AGN suspends Shirley Igwe over assault, misconduct
The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has indefinitely suspended Nollywood actress and producer Shirley Igwe due to allegations of violent conduct and misconduct on a movie set.

Reports indicate that Igwe physically assaulted a crew member during a production in Lagos, resulting in a heated altercation where she allegedly slapped the individual.
In a statement from Ifeoma Okeke, Chief of Staff to the AGN National President, the guild condemned the incident and called for Igwe to apologize to the victim.
“Following our preliminary investigation into the violence allegations against actress Shirley Igwe on a film set in Lagos, the National Executive Council has decided to place her on indefinite suspension,” the statement said.
The AGN characterized her actions as unprofessional and detrimental to the industry’s image. Members of the guild have also been instructed to avoid participating in any productions that involve the actress.
