BBNaija star, Anto Lecky appointed SSA on tourism, creative economy in Edo

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Munirat Anto Lecky, has been appointed as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Tourism and Creative Economy by Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State.

Her appointment took effect on June 23, 2025.

Anto, in a post on her Instagram on Monday, July 20, expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve her state and country again.

Excerpts of the caption in the comment section read: “As the Senior Special Assistant to the Edo State Governor on Tourism and Creative Economy, I have a great responsibility to contribute to the promotion of the rich culture of our great state. With the return of many stolen Benin Bronzes, soon-to-be opened museums, and an ever-growing entertainment industry, there is no better time for Edo State to be at the forefront of tourism and the creative economy in Nigeria and the world.

“Edo State’s borders and its economy are open to all, travellers and investors, domestic and international. I look forward to working with all stakeholders.

“As a proud Edo babe, in my official portraits, I am wearing the Gbogane fabric of my Etsako tribe located in Edo North and red coral beads which signify royalty, power, dominance, and protection.”

Lecky, a media personality and actress, is expected to support the state’s efforts to revitalise its tourism and creative sectors.

This includes showcasing Edo’s cultural heritage through initiatives such as the return of looted Benin bronzes and the development of new museum projects.
