Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has officially signed on the artists’ clientele list of Roc Nation, the boutique music label, entertainment, and sports services company founded by iconic American rapper, and mogul JAY-Z.

The development comes weeks after Roc Nation congratulated the singer on winning her first BET Award, which many saw as an early sign of collaboration. Four days ago, Ayra Starr also teased her upcoming single, Hot Body, which is expected to drop under Roc Nation’s management.

Though still signed to Mavin, the record label of Nigerian music producer Don Jazzy, who discovered and helped drive her breakout, the singer’s strong ambition of global superstardom is expected to be boosted by this strategic partnership with Roc Nation, along with the continued support of Mavin and Universal Music Group.

Starr will now be managed internationally by Roc Nation, a move designed to leverage her star power and momentum. The singer is currently on a stadium tour with British rock band Coldplay. She will make her full acting debut in the highly anticipated film adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s Children of Blood and Bone and has won BET and MOBO awards in recent months.
