GCUOBA celebrates Uncle Sam @ 90

Celebrations for the 90th birthday of the publisher of Vanguard Newspapers, Mr. Sam Amuka, CON, took a nostalgic turn last weekend in Lagos, when members of Government College Ughelli Old Boys Association, GCUOBA, joined by friends and associates, gathered at Eko Hotel and Suites for a special moment with the celebrant fondly called ‘Uncle Sam’ across the Nigerian media industry.
Tagged ’Friends Lunch with Uncle Sam’, the colourful, fun-filled event which became a re-union of some sort, brought back beautiful college memories.
The high-point of the gathering was the presentation of the book, ‘From Sad Sam to Uncle Sam’, written by famous economist, newspaper columnist and public affairs commentator, Dr. Dele Sobowale, in honour of the celebrant.
