How Ifeoma Agugua Is Redefining Self-Care for Moms Through momescape
Relocating to a new country can be both exciting and isolating. For Ifeoma Agugua, a certified psychologist, author, and now cofounder of Momescape, the move to the United Kingdom revealed a deeper truth: even in modern societies, mothers often carry the invisible weight of family and community while struggling silently with their own well-being.

“I realized how easy it is for moms to neglect themselves,” Ifeoma says. “Relocation showed me how loneliness and cultural adjustment can affect mental health. I wanted to create something that gave women space to breathe, rest, and reconnect with themselves.”
That vision sparked the creation of MomEscape, a platform she cofounded with Akinmolade Taiwo. More than just a wellness brand, Momescape curates thoughtfully designed retreats where mothers can step away from daily pressures, recharge mentally and physically, and connect with like-minded women.
At its core, Momescape believes that self-care isn’t selfish,it’s necessary. Through a mix of relaxation and adventure, their retreats are tailored to nurture body, mind, and spirit. Participants leave not only refreshed, but also inspired and better equipped to return to their families with renewed energy.
The company launched its first retreat in April 2025, drawing strong interest and attracting sponsors who recognized the importance of creating intentional spaces for mothers.
“Our mission is to empower moms to prioritize self-care,” Ifeoma explains. “When a mom is happy and healthy, the whole family thrives. We envision a world where every mother feels valued, supported, and celebrated.”
With plans to expand globally, Momescape is building more than a business ,it’s building a movement. One retreat at a time, Ifeoma and Lade are challenging the narrative that motherhood must mean constant sacrifice. Instead, they are proving that when mothers pause to care for themselves, everyone wins.
