The eyes are the gateways to the heart. They are the windows through which we view the world. Sadly. they are being exposed to smoke, dust, fumes…you name it.
We can’t seem to stop staring at the smartphones, computer and television screens. It is even worse if you are working with digital devices often.
These expose us to dry eyes, headaches, double vision, eye twitching, red eyes, blurred vision and other eye problems.
So how do we protect our eyes? Find below steps to do so:
1. Ensure your work space is well-lit
Make use of window drapes and well-lit bulbs to control the room’s lightning.Don’t stare at screens in the dark. Also practise good sitting posture.
2.Blink regularly
Blinking less causes dry eyes and irritability. Practise blinking more.
3. Observe the 20-20-20 rule
The 20-20-20 rule states that we are to gaze for 20 seconds at an object which is 20 feet away every 20 minutes. It helps to relax the focusing muscles in the eyes.
4. Use customised visual aids
Visit your optician to get a pair of customized eye glasses. Ensure you diet is rich in Vitamin A and its supplement.
5. Take frequent breaks
Quit sitting for long. Take a stroll. Go for a walk. Go get some lunch or grab a bottle of water. Just move away from the screen. Take a break!
