Ibidun Ighodalo counsels on right attributes to look out for in getting a spouse

Ibidun Ighodalo, wife of the senior pastor of Trinity Church, Lekki, Ituah Ighodalo, has shared her thoughts on how some people miss getting married to their husbands/wives because they judged them based only outward appearance as opposed to character and values.

According to her, in a post on her Instagram page, she stated that rather than look outwardly for “the tall dark and handsome/tall, slim and beautiful,” specifics, those attributes may just be wrapped inside a person who may not be your ‘type’ initially.

The former beauty queen then added that the packages people see today weren’t like this from the onset. Someone did the nurturing.

She wrote: “Hmmm….. I have often asked both sexes what their type of guy/girl they would want and I usually get the tall dark and handsome/ tall, slim and beautiful answer. However when they meet the short, plump and okay guy or girl they say they’re not their type. Sadly, some people have missed their husbands/wives by judging them based on their outward appearance as opposed to character and values. Hmmm…. Never judge a book by its cover. Sometimes your supposed ‘type’ will give you hell in a relationship and the one who was not your ‘type’ would be the best gift ? wrapped.

“My big sis @titilola.s said something profound to me yesterday she said that tall, dark, handsome/slim and beautiful person lies inside that human being if only you would be patient enough and trust Gods direction. Sometimes He gives us wood when we ask for a table, as the raw material he wants us to work on.

“The packages/couple goals you see today weren’t like this from day 1…. A man watered that woman and vice versa. The grass is never greener on the other side or in the beginning. You water and nurture it to the level you desire.”
