Haircare tips for every African woman

Haircare is a very important aspect of every woman.

We all know that hair is the crown of every woman. Hair is also part of a woman’s beauty and this is why synthetic and human hair companies will always thrive in Africa because women love the flowing long hair.

But what about their natural God given hair, many have neglected because there are many alternatives to getting a beautiful hair.

Haircare tips for every African woman

As much as you respect the white woman’s hair, it is important to pay attention to your own God given hair. It is part of who you are.

There are several reasons women do not value their natural hair. They are “It does not grow well; it is scanty and too light; it is too strong to manage; my hair does not fit me and it is not healthy’.

And so, many rely solely on wigs, hair extensions and other synthetic hairs to look beautiful thereby killing the God given forever.

Hair experts have listed a lot of reasons many African women’s hair is not always healthy.

Their hair is too dry because they lacks moisture.

Regular changing from one hair product to the other.

Many do not understand their diet affects their hair.

Many carry their protective hairstyle, like braids, Ghana weaving, longer than required.

Going for tight braids immediately after retouching the hair with relaxer damages the hair.

Wigs which are supposed to be worn once in a while has become permanent hairstyle.

These few points have serious effect on the health of the hair. You may have noticed and must have asked yourself why many who have decided to cut their hair and grow virgin hair is looking more healthy and have more growth, it is simply because the chemicals have been dumped.
The hair has been allowed to breath fresh air. And the tight braids, ponytails hairstyles that put a lot of stress on your hair and scalp has been stopped for a while.

Tight braids create crimps and breakage in hair overtime. So, it is best you avoid carrying them for long periods of time.

Eat food that contain protein and iron because they aid healthy hair growth.

Avoid washing your hair on a daily basis. Whenever you do, apply conditioner on the ends. You should also endeavour to use the same brand of conditioner and shampoo for the best result, preferable Natures gentle touch products.

Sometimes, conditioning is usually not enough, you need to do deep conditioning. Wash your hair with shampoo, squeeze out the extra water and towel dry it. Apply generous amounts of conditioner to the root of your hair. Comb it with a broad-toothed comb to make sure the conditioner reaches everywhere. Pull the hair up and clip them together, leaving the conditioner in from 10 to 30 minutes. Pull them down, rinse thoroughly with cold water and go slay with your shiny smooth hair.

Always be gentle when combing your wet hair. Run the hair with a broad toothed comb from the roots to the ends very gently.

Avoid constant wearing of wigs, it deprives the hair the oxygen it needs to grow and be healthy.

Trim about an inch of your hair every 6 to 8 weeks to get rid of the brown and rough split ends.

After retouching the hair with your certified relaxer, it is advice to wash the hair three more times, with within two weeks interval to remove chemicals completely before going for braids or weaving. Making the hair immediate after relaxing cause the chemical to still react with the hair.
