How to be the Perfect Groom

September 12,2019

“After the wedding party comes the reality of marriage and it is no joke. The reason many marriages are not standing the test of time is because both men and women do not want to make sacrifices.”

How to be the Perfect Groom

These were the words of a relationship expert and marriage counselor, Agatha Edo.

A few days ago, she gave advice to new brides and now, she has a few words for the potential groom and the just married men.

To be the perfect groom is to have at the back of your mind that you are no longer bachelor. You are a man who has responsibilities to fulfill towards another (wife) who you have taken from her parents and vowed to protect all the days of your like.

These are Things to Do Away with in order to build a healthy relationship..

Perfect groom

Agatha Edo.

From the very moment a man takes his vow, he should realize that everything about him has changed. He has become a man in the true sense of it. Therefore, he must begin to act as one by weeding his life of certain relationships and habits that would be inimical to a healthy relationship between him and his wife. The truth is, there are certain persons or friends a man must exit from his life for his marriage to succeed.

Unlike when he was single and carefree, he now has the responsibility of caring for someone else whose feelings and views must be consulted and considered before he makes any decision.

He must go out of his way to make his wife his best friend and confidant. This way, whatever comes up, they will be able to settle it without third party intervention. This is imperative to earning his wife’s trust and support.

He should learn from the first day of marriage, how to protect his wife and home from external influences especially from his family.
Also, he must initiate a discussion on what they expect from each other and plans for the future of the union.

He must develop the attitude of helping his wife to care for their home. This way he becomes a leader and not the boss. Many women respond to such show of understanding by going the extra mile to make their men happy and loved.

Above all he should not be too busy to submit his home to God through daily family devotion.
