Becoming the change we desire

People jumping up

One day after work, I waited at the bus stop with a friend.

We stood there for a little longer as the buses were not forth coming.

When it finally did, we left the bus stop and before we could get to the next stop, we were waved down by men from the police force and the driver quickly rogered them.

The ruling party advertised change and at that time, it was what our beloved country needed… Disregarding other factors, it’s one of the reasons why they came to power.

We accepted the change they offered without asking what kind of change, they were offering.

Today the general masses wish they didn’t clamour for change, they’d give everything to remain under the umbrella that shielded them from rain and sunlight.

When you point 👉 one finger at the government, other four points back at you because the spoilt or corrupt system is as a result of our collective effort.

Because we don’t want to be late or delayed, we quickly roger the men of the force and they now think it’s an obligation we owe them.

After hours of burning the midnight candle for that exam, you went ahead to sort a lecturer because you don’t want him to fail you.

Your child is about to write his SSCE or jamb and you register him/her for special center because we want them to make it once.

Because you want to gain excessively, you reduced the quality of that malaria drug to almost chalk.

What kind of message do you pass with the little things you do everyday..

The system is as corrupt as we make it. all these little things that you think don’t matter accumulate to make a bigger impact, become the change you want to see.

Set the pace and standard you want to see, do the things you want to see others do.

Don’t be the pot that calls the kettle black, if you can CHANGE YOU ,the people around you will emulate, and that drop of water would make the mighty ocean.

We can make our world better by becoming the change we desire.
