BET awards holds every year to celebrate black excellence in entertainment and sports. BET held its first ever virtual ceremony on Sunday, 28th June 2020 because of the corona virus pandemic.

This edition was hosted by former Real co-host Amanda Seales and this year also marks BET 20 years anniversary.

It was aired for the first time on CBS national broadcast and on BET. The three hours live show got viewers entertained with shows from different artistes.

Lil Wayne performed a powerful tribute in honor of NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi, who both lost their lives in a helicopter crash earlier this year.

Nigerian African giant, Burna Boy  won the BET Best International Act , this will make it two consecutive win for him.

Beyoncé accepted the BET Humanitarian Award from former First Lady Michelle Obama and also won the BET HER AWARD for her song “Brown Skin Girl.”

Chris Brown scooped two awards  Best Collaboration and Best Male R&B/Pop Artist.

Megan Thee Stallion was crowned the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist and DaBaby won the Best Male Hip-Hop Artist.
