Fun ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day despite restrictions
Valentine’s Day is around the corner and with the ‘restrictions’ still in place, chances are you’re wondering how you can still show your loved one just how much you care.
While there’s no denying that this year’s celebrations are going to be a little different, being pretty much stuck at home for the day doesn’t mean it can’t be fun.
Staying home to celebrate can also be a very rewarding experience, especially because people have a tendency to feel more at ease in their own home.
Here are some ideas for celebrating Valentine’s Day (and the Night!) with all the restrictions, and still making it special!
Plan a truly romantic meal
Start the day right with a Valentine’s breakfast. Your partner will love their favourite breakfast in bed.
Have a look at local restaurants who may be offering chef-made meals straight to your door. There are lots of Valentine’s specials on order, so you can have a fantastic meal and feel good that you’re supporting local businesses too!
Go on a romantic walk
Make sure that your walk involves a cheeky stop where you can enjoy some fizz and chocolates too!!
Use your outdoor space
There may well be no better time to enjoy an evening under the stars than Valentine’s Day in Lockdown. Wrap up cosy, and snuggle under the sky. You can also have a barbeque.
Create a home spa experience
Treat your partner or treat both of you with an at-home spa experience. Candles, massages, and a hot bath sprinkled with rose petals or a bath bomb. Get out some fluffy dressing gowns, slippers and cucumbers for your eyes to finish the experience off.
Netflix and chill
Not sure this needs any explaining. Just remember to get snacks…. all that Netflix and Chillin’ might give you an appetite. Or, get your favourite romantic movies, make some popcorn and hot chocolate, and stay up all night watching movies and cuddling
Plan some future romantic experiences
Hopefully, this restrictions won’t last forever. Snuggle up on the sofa and browse holidays, days out and experiences. Plan some things to look forward to when life resumed to normality.
Slow dance to your song
Play that song you both like and you and your sweetheart can sway to it slowly
Recreate your first date
Recreating your very first date night is the perfect date night for this Valentine’s Day. Reminisce about funny memories, simpler times, memorable moments, and how far you’ve come over the years
Stay up all night
From the playful to extremely romantic, let your love know exactly how you feel about them with an intimate night at home, just you and them.
Set up some of your favourite board games, like Monopoly, Chess, Checkers, cards, etc and have fun!
Take a bubble bath (with Champagne & red or white wine and cake!)
Surprise your love with a bubble bath for two. When you’re done, wash and comb/brush their hair for them.
Eat a fancy dinner out
Plan a romantic dinner, with wine or champagne, candles, music… and just relish in each other. Talk, play, anything that comes up. Just be open and love without inhibition.
Make dinner together!
