VALENTINE’S DAY: HOW TO GET YOUR BEDROOM READY FOR ROMANCE

Your bedroom serves two main purposes: sleep and romance. If you’ve been doing a little more sleep and a little less of the latter, it’s time to rethink your bedroom.

When it comes to creating a more relaxing, sex-friendly oasis in your bedroom, a few easy upgrades are all it takes.

Here are the best ways to get your bedroom ready for a little action.

INVEST IN CANDLES

The romantic glow provided by candlelight is so hard to deny that it’s practically a cliché. But there’s a reason why candles are at the top of the list: They give just enough light to see your partner without being too bright. Plus, scented candles can help add a little perfume to the air and create a romantic atmosphere.

ALWAYS HAVE TWO NIGHTSTANDS

Whether you live with your partner or you live alone, make sure you provide enough storage space to make your guest feel welcome and at home. There’s nothing worse than turning over in bed after a long night, only to find there’s nowhere to place a glass of water or charge a phone. A nightstand is a must, but a nightstand with a drawer to hide necessities is even better.

PICK THE RIGHT BEDSIDE LAMPS

Now that we’ve established that two nightstands are essential to a romantic bedroom, it’s time to consider the lighting. The right lighting provides just enough of a glow to see your partner. Consider a bedside lamp that comes with dimmers, so you can turn down the light when you want to set the mood.

ADD FRESH FLOWERS AND PLANT

One of the easiest ways to create a welcoming, romantic space is to add a vase or two of fresh flowers or a few potted plants. But make sure they’re alive and thriving.
