Rapper, Offset take ex-boss to court over ownership of solo career

August 26,2022
Share:

Offset has filed a lawsuit against Quality Control, his previous label, alleging interference with his solo career.

Even while the Migos continue to refute rumors of their breakup, one of the group’s members, Offset, has been upfront about his desire to go solo.

Offset claimed in court documents that Quality Control ignored a contract that was made in January 2021.

Even though he generously invested in his artist rights when negotiating his solo contract, the complaint, which was filed on Tuesday, contends that “Quality Control” isn’t honouring the deal now that he’s produced a new single.

Offset further stateed that “Quality Control” made a “hostile” attempt to claim ownership of his brand-new, Baby Keem-produced single “54321.”

“Code,” a new song co-written by Offset and Moneybagg, will be released this Friday and the rapper has taken to Twitter to call out his ex-boss saying:

“Niggas act like I’m the problem I paid millions to get my rights back. Nigga you blackballed me I ain’t said shit one-time homie I ain’t spoke to you in 2 years now I drop and you want ya name on my credit?”

P refuted the assertion by citing an associated case that was filed in late 2020 and claiming that “the last lawsuit was filed openly and dismissed quietly.”

He stated that Quavo and Takeoff may have started collaborating on music as a result of issues that Offset may have caused.

Let’s keep an eye on how this one develops.

He added, “been too real for all this lame shit.”

“Everyone is aware of the true problem”, he continued, before hinting at the arrival of new albums from other “Quality Control” signees.
