The Medical Director of Optimal Cancer Foundation, Dr. Olufemi Olaleye, who is on trial for allegedly sexually assaulting his wife’s 16-year-old niece, has accused his wife of fabricating the allegation against him.

Olaleye made the statement on Friday while testifying in his defense at the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court sitting in Ikeja.

The defendant, who was led in evidence by his counsel, Babatunde Ogala (SAN), disclosed that his marriage to Oluremi was marred by lies.

He also accused his wife of cheating on him with her ex-boyfriend and taking a loan to buy a car without his consent.

He further testified that they were separated for 12 months due to various lies told by his wife.

Olaleye stated that his wife’s niece, the alleged victim, was brought to his home without his consent.

According to him, she came to their house alongside his late mother-in-law when she was sick.

He said he shared the same bedroom with his wife on the second floor of their two-storey building and had 16 Close Circuit Television cameras installed in the house.

The defendant’s alleged offenses contravene Sections 137 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

His wife had previously told the court that her husband was diagnosed with sex addiction on December 19, 2022.

The case has been adjourned to May 22, 2023, for the continuation of the trial.
