R&B singer, R. Kelly, also known as Robert Sylvester Kelly, has been relocated to a correctional facility in North Carolina, where he will serve his 30-year prison sentence for multiple sexual offenses.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons announced on Wednesday that Kelly was moved from the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago to the Federal Correctional Institution in Butner, North Carolina.

This comes after the singer was sentenced to an additional year in prison for federal child pornography and child enticement charges, on top of the 30 years he is already serving for a separate conviction out of New York.

Last September, a federal jury in Chicago convicted Kelly of six counts of sexual abuse against three women, who testified under the pseudonyms of Jane, Pauline, and Nia on video.

However, he was acquitted of enticement charges involving two other accusers, Tracy and Brittany.

Additionally, Kelly was acquitted of seven other charges, including obstruction of justice, which accused him and two associates of rigging his 2008 child pornography trial in Cook County.

Despite his conviction, Kelly has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct, and his legal team has stated that they plan to appeal the verdict.

R. Kelly’s case has been widely publicized and has drawn the attention of the #MeToo movement, which advocates for survivors of sexual assault and harassment.
