Spyro pays heartfelt tribute to late Sound Sultan, credits him for success
Nigerian artist, Spyro has paid tribute to his mentor, Sound Sultan, who passed away on July 11, 2021, after battling angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.
Spyro took to Instagram to express his gratitude to Sound Sultan, acknowledging his significant contribution to his success.
Spyro revealed that Sound Sultan clothed him during his days of humble beginnings and that his success story would not be complete without the late singer’s guidance.
He recalled a time when Sound Sultan gave him clothes to wear to an event, despite others laughing at him.
In his tribute post, Spyro expressed his regret that Sound Sultan did not live to see him rise to fame, saying, “I wish you were here to see all that is happening.”
“I miss you mentor… Today thoughts of how you fed me, clothed and accepted me when nobody did, came rushing back. Thank you for all you taught me and did for me. Till we meet again, rest in power Sound Sultan,” Spyro wrote.
Sound Sultan was a respected Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actor, who was known for his unique style of music.
He mentored several young artists in the industry, including Spyro, who will always be grateful for his guidance and support.
