DEALING WITH UNSATISFIED SEX IN MARRIAGE

October 18,2023
Share:

It is pretty common for a husband and wife to go through sexual dissatisfaction which could be caused by a number of reasons.

However, quite a handful of them can be managed if the couple work together to salvage the situation.

Unsatisfied sex is on the rampage and can cause issues like low self esteem/anxiety/loneliness/difficulty maintaining unresolved relationship problems including sexual frustration.

In other words, this means that you do not enjoy lovemaking with your spouse, or you generally do not like sex, which could pose a serious problem, most especially as sex is an important ingredient of any sexual union like marriage. Without it, the relationship may fall apart.

For the majority of couples, sexual satisfaction is a cornerstone of a healthy marital life; something that should be enjoyed and sought for, yet sexual satisfaction is not always a reality for most lovers.

Get to observe what causes dissatisfaction and execute efforts to get rid of them.

For instance: are you the cause of the problem or is it your spouse?

Do you lack sexual confidence or is your significant other not meeting your sexual desires?

Does a lack of intimacy make the two of you feel distant from each other?

Is there a problem of unrealistic expectations or miscommunication?

Do you need to discuss it with your partner?

Or just maybe you need the help of a professional?

Oftentimes, the answer is that there is nothing really wrong with you, its just being human. Most couples actually experience periods of sexual dissatisfaction once in a while, but, you can always move past it.

Lack of satisfaction often lead to unhealthy behaviours like use of drugs, alcohol, overeating plus, indulging in risky sexual behaviours all in a bid to boost self-esteem and improve sexual satisfaction.

These unhealthy behaviours over a period of time can take a toll on your physical, mental and social well-being with dire consequences such as depression, weight gain and increased feelings of anxiety and stress.

Simply note that sex is not two bodies working together like a machine, its more like desires and passions meeting and creating magic devoid of stress and tensions.

Sexual life without that spark or desire is one of the core sexual problems in marriages and can be quite frustrating and depressing.
Note that sexual intimacy is very vital and healthy for marriage, but a sexless union is not necessarily a sign that your marriage is on the verge of divorce.

But at least you are aware something is wrong regarding sex and if unsure of the cause, you can start by trying to identify the problem by having an open and honest conversation with your spouse. Openly communicate with each other, to enable both of you figure out what the issue might be.

Just in case you’re in an unsatisfying sexual relationship, try not to let your marriage sink; take charge and create the wow factor magic where you both feel sexually satisfied to the fullest!.
