Bobrisky award controversy: Eniola Ajao tenders apology

In the aftermath of the controversial events that occurred at the premiere of her movie, Beast Of Two Worlds ‘AJAKAJU’, held on Sunday, March 24, Nigerian actress Eniola Ajao has issued a heartfelt apology to the public.

The actress expressed deep regret and remorse over the distress caused by the controversial selection process for the Best Dressed award.

In a letter addressed to the public, Ajao acknowledged the significance of the Muslim community, especially during the sacred month of Ramadan, and extended her sincerest apologies for any offense caused during this time.

She also apologised to women, emphasising her respect for womanhood and her commitment to upholding dignity and respect for all genders.

Furthermore, Ajao apologised to Mr. Femi Adebayo and his wife, Aladuke, for the unintended backlash they faced due to the announcement made at the premiere. She expressed regret for any insults or disrespect directed towards them and took full responsibility for any harm caused.

Additionally, Eniola Ajao issued an apology to controversial internet personality Bobrisky, acknowledging the distress caused by involving him in the event. She clarified that the decision to award Bobrisky was aimed at promoting the movie and generating publicity rather than causing harm.

To make amends for the controversy, Eniola Ajao announced that two females, Bose Alao and another unnamed female, would be honoured as the best-dressed females at the premiere. Each of them will receive a sum of N1,000,000 as a token of apology and appreciation for their grace and elegance.

Ajao reiterated that her primary goal was to promote her movie, scheduled to hit cinemas on March 29. She emphasised that while missteps were made, her intentions were never malicious. She expressed her commitment to learning and growing from the experience and appealed for forgiveness and support from the public.
