Prepping for Christmas Shopping

Whether you’re headed to a neighbourhood boutique, hitting the mall or visiting a major market this festive season, it’s important to consider doing some preparatory work ahead of your Christmas shopping trip.

Here are some tips to help you shop with ease.

Make a list
Write down all you need, as well as all the people you need to buy stuffs for— including what you want to get them; and remember to stick with your list.

Set a budget
Really, you shouldn’t be shopping without knowing how much cash you have, and how much you can comfortably spend. Decide how much you want to spend on each person and stick to it.

Research and compare prices
Look up items online or check out store catalogues to get some inspiration. Also compare prices at different stores to find the best deals.

Get your gear ready
Bring comfortable shoes, a water bottle, and a bag to carry all your purchases. Most especially, consider comfortable footwears if you’re going to be doing a lot of walking. If shopping for trousers, bring an old additional pair so you always don’t have to try on every pair you wish to buy in the market.

Wear fitted underlayers
For easy dressing room changes, consider wearing an outfit with a tight tank and leggings as the base. That way, you don’t need to strip down to undies every single time and can still roughly gauge garment fit.

Eat something
It is common to rush out in the early hours when going shopping but no matter how early you choose to, always remember you shouldn’t shop on an empty stomach. Otherwise, you will become crabby and tired in under an hour.

Show off your style
The weather is extremely hot, and of course, an opportunity to show off your personal style. As you go shopping, beat the hot sun in style; throw on a wide-brimmed straw hat and an oversized pair of sunglasses. You shouldn’t loose steeze simply because you’re shopping.
