First tunnel linking Europe and Asia in 15 minutes opens

The first ever Eurasia Tunnel, connecting the Asian and European continents was officially opened yesterday in the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul.
The Eurasian Tunnel is designed for cars and small buses and aimed at relieving Istanbul’s notoriously traffic jam.
Istanbul is the only city to straddle both the Asian and European continents.
With this opening, the two continents are now linked by five crossings and the latest crossing can be done in 15 minutes.
