How to improve health of your hair so it grows faster

If there is one thing that most women wish could happen to their hair, it is the power to make it grow much faster. This would certainly solve a lot of problems when it comes to getting haircuts that some immediately regret!

One of the best things about having hair that grows long though is that it is a sign that your locks are nice and healthy. If you happen to be somebody whose hair takes an absolute age to grow even an inch or so, then it might down to the fact that you could be doing more to improve its quality.

Here are some ways to improve the health of your hair so it grows faster.

DIET CHANGES

Your diet is something that you should address when thinking about making your hair healthier. You need to be consuming sufficient levels of iron, zinc, B vitamins and protein. One particular thing that you can do to achieve all of this in a single go is to add spirulina to your smoothies, it’s a superfood that is rich in protein and contains something called chlorophyll which helps your hair to grow!

CLOGGED FOLLICLES

If your follicles are clogged, your hair is going to end up in pretty bad condition. Oils, dirt and various products can work to clog up follicles, but you can avoid doing this by giving your hair a day or two of rest from overloading the root area with things like hairspray and dry shampoo.

EXFOLIATE

We exfoliate all of the other skin covered areas of our bodies, so why not do it for the scalp too? You can do this by using a detoxifying shampoo once a week that will thoroughly cleanse and remove any of the excess sebum from your follicles, along with all of the product build up that I already mentioned.

CAFFEINE

Did you know that caffeine has been found to be able to stimulate your hair shafts by blocking and subduing the effects of a hair damage chemical called DHT? Germans scientists were behind this breakthrough, and they discovered that a caffeine enhanced shampoo can speed up the growth of your hair by as much as 25%!

MASSAGE

Massage any area of your body can stimulate the circulation, so doing so to your scalp can increase the activity of the tiny blood vessels that feed your hair follicles. You can get the best benefits from this by booking yourself in for a professional Indian head massage. There’s nothing quite like it!

LOOSER HAIRBANDS

Your hair follicles need some room to breathe, basically, so one of the worst things you can do is keep your hair locked tight in strong hairbands. If you have to tie your hair back, do it in a loose fashion that won’t run the risk of snagging and breaking your locks. Bands with metal fasteners are the worst offenders!
