How to take care of your accessories
Accessories put finish touches to your outfit. They change your outfit from ordinary to extraordinary. You have to make effort to keep them in good conditions. Here is how:
1. Don’t allow perfumes and sweat rub your jewellery
Spraying perfume directly on or close to areas where you have jewellery, can cause them to fade or turn green. Also, the salt secreted in your sweat will also mess up so take your jewellery.
2. Untangle knotted necklaces with oil and a pin
By applying some oil all over the tangled up necklace, then using a pin, gently pull the knots would untangle it.
3. Clean your jewellery with beer and ketchup
Beer is a pretty good cleanser for gold plated jewellery. While ketchup is great for cleaning silver accessories. Simply sprinkle some beer on a cloth and wipe your gold accessories with it. For silver, switch the cloth for an old toothbrush. Add some ketchup and brush those accessories. They would come out sparkly clean.
4. Store your necklaces in a straw to prevent them from getting tangled
This is great for when you are travelling and it is really easy to do. Simply pass one end of the necklace through a straw and hook both ends together. Voila! Problem solved.
