This Is The Worst Time To Be Single And Alone – Johnny Drille

John Ighodaro, Nigerian singer and songwriter better known as Johnny Drille, says the COVID-19 crisis period is the worst for people to be single and alone.

The coronavirus pandemic has affected every facet of life including the culture and lifestyle of many people.

To combat spread of the virus, both federal and state governments had, among other measures, introduced partial or complete lockdown a move which has forced many people to stay at home and away from their places of work.

While the lockdown continues to generating dusts, President Muhummadu Buhari had directed extension of the stay-at-home order in Lagos and Ogun states as well as Abuja, further raising concerns.

In what appeared to be his reflection on happenings across the country as a result of the virus, the ‘Love Don’t Lie’ crooner emphasised the need for people to be in the company of their loved ones amid the lockdown.

Drille also explained that his definition of companionship does not only mean boyfriend and girlfriend but also include family and friends.

“This is the worst time to be single and alone,” he wrote. “I said ‘single and alone’. When I say companionship I’m not necessarily or only talking girl/boy I also mean family, friends, etc.”

Born in Edo state, the gifted music star came to the spotlight after releasing a cover of ‘Wait for Me’, his debut single, in 2015.

He has since continued to pull the strings in the Nigerian music industry, snagging several awards including ‘Best Alternative Song’ at the 2019 edition of The Headies.
