LIGHT UP YOUR LIVING ROOM WITH INTIMATE LIGHTINGS

Do you want your living room to feel like it is welcoming you back? Especially after a long day?  If yes, these will help!

Natural Light: If you’re blessed with a South-facing space, you’re going to need a lot less light for the daytime and perhaps won’t need to consider as much task lighting.

If you’re not as lucky with natural light, you need to work out how this affects the room in question; and again, think about how the lighting situation will impact your daily routine.

Make a Focal Point: You can use lighting to highlight details and emphasize beautiful architectural features, as well as statement pieces of art and furniture. To create a more intimate atmosphere, bring lighting to a lower level via table lamps and short floor lamps. Angle multi-directional wall lights or spotlights towards objects in your home that you love and want to show off. Do not point them at blank walls or the ground.

Mood and Task Lighting: Extra task and mood lighting is often where design schemes fall short. Homeowners assume that the central light or wall lights are enough at full power, instead of thinking about the layering effect. Soft fabric shades on table lamps and floor lamps help to diffuse light, making it softer and perfect for the background. You can think about illuminating features such as bookcases or entertainment units. You can also use LEDs to give a soft highlighting glow to areas of interest.

Light Up the Candles: Candles are the last piece of the puzzle when creating a relaxing and intimate atmosphere. They add in softer light and create a sultrier mood that is instantly welcoming. Scented candles are the ideal addition for an instantly intimate warming feel while not distracting from the décor.
