Fast-rising controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has threatened to kill whoever is given The Headies award in the categories he was nominated, if he doesn’t win.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, the singer claimed the other nominees are no match for him because his song is known by all.

He added that just like Caesar, he should be give the awards because they belong to him.

“Thank God, Headies has nominated me for best street-hop artiste of the year. Who wan check am?”

“I’m still the owner of the rookie of the year award.  Who doesn’t know Zazuu? Aboki, Hausa, Igbo, who doesn’t know my song? Even those abroad listen to me.

“All those awards, I own them. Whoever is given those awards apart from me, I’ll ask them to kill the person. I’ll just ask them to kill you.

“Give unto Caesar what is for Caesar. My award, give it to me. Don’t give my award to another person, if you do, you will die.”

The organisers of the award announced the nominees for this year’s edition on Tuesday.

‘Street Wahala’ as he is called, bagged two nominations in the ‘Rookie of the Year’ and ‘Best Street-Hop Artiste’ categories.

In the ‘Rookie of the Year’ category, he’s competitors are Av, Fave, Magixx, and Ugoccie.

For the second category, Portable will slug it out with Bella Shmurda, Mohbad, Naira Marley, and Goya Menor among others.
