Importance of adding these Herbs to your food

Herbs are leaves of a plant while spices are made from roots, seeds and bark of a plant. These two help to fight inflammation and reduces the body’s cell damage.

Adding herbs and spices to your diet not only makes it flavorful but also helps you cut back on less healthy ingredients. 

Let’s take a quick look at some of them;

Garlic – Garlic is believed to help combat sickness like common cold and also improve heart health.

Ginger – Ginger contains anti-inflammatory properties that can help with the management of pain. It can also help in the treatment of nausea.

Rosemary – Rosmarinic acid is the active ingredient in rosemary and it has been shown to help reduce nasal congestion and help prevent allergies.

Turmeric – Turmeric contains a substance called curcumin which has anti- inflammatory effects.

Cinnamon – Cinnamon is believed to help lower blood sugar level by improving insulin sensitivity and also slowing down the breakdown of carbohydrate. It also helps to fight inflammation and it contains antioxidants too.

Cumin – Cumin is very rich in iron and it also contains antioxidants and helps promote digestion.

 Cardamom – This sweet spice is known to soothe an upset stomach.It is also a rich source of magnesium and zinc.

Basil – Basil contains antioxidants and anti- inflammatory properties.

If you have been sleeping on these herbs and spices, it’s time to WAKE-UP!!.
