Nollywood star actress, Iretiola Doyle, has formally announced her divorce from Patrick Doyle, an actor and broadcaster.

The couple’s 15-year marriage had reportedly fallen apart as early as 2017, but neither ever publicly acknowledged it.

The pair got married in 2004.

But Ireti finally acknowledged that she and her husband had split up in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.

She declared, “We are officially divorced.”

Ireti added that some circumstances are out of one’s control and that she had no business getting married at the time that she did.

She wrote in an Instagram post;

When you’re an adult, it’s not a life and death situation…there are some situations that are way beyond your control.

The truth of the matter is that I had no business being married at that time talk less of… let’s not even go to the choice of who I got married to.

There is a time to be silent and a time to speak. In this age where everything one says is scrutinised and quartered; it takes a certain level of trust to bare intimate details .. we are here now.

But the actress avoided going into specifics about how they ended things.

While they were together, the ex-couple gave birth to a child. While Patrick had four children from his first marriage to his late wife, Ireti had one older daughter from a previous relationship.
