Sex: Ways to beat tiredness

Being tired to indulge in making out sexually as couple does not necessarily mean your sex life has to rusty.

Oftentimes, when one gets busy and tired, sex life becomes one of the very first culprit or casualty as job, taking care of children/family members can take a toll on ones stamina and passion unsurprisingly left on the burner to burn.

This behaviour is not restricted to ladies alone; a 2011 study found that a lack of sleep can reduce male sexual desire while recent research also finds that, sleep disturbance in ladies can impact their sexual libido.
I’m too tired is the most common reason we turn down sex. I have a headache is a close second often complained of by lovers.
And, a spousals constant rejection becoming a regular theme in your union can lead to problems. You need to sexually strategize long and short term goals at bringing more energy into the bedroom.

Here are a few things you can do to prevent tiredness interfering with your sexual intimacy on a long-term strategies:

Too exhausted for intercourse can be a welcome invitation to take a deeper look at your quality of sleep because, if you are always tired, then, its a signal that something needs to shift.

There’s no getting around the fact that sleep is an essential part of your life. You need to prioritize it over other stuff to give your body the much needed rest to stay healthy.

Practicing better sleep hygiene by limiting screen time before bed: go to bed at the same time every night.

Planned sex- Fix sex for a particular day of the week and once you know that you have a sex date on Saturday night, then you can put a little extra effort into getting a good nights sleep the night before. Clear out your busy schedules and be sure to get home early from work on that day.

For the short term goals, here are some tips you can engage in.

Start with the 10-minutes rule- Its true youre too tired for any kind of intimacy but give it 10 minutes of intimate kissing, cuddling and touching. This may get you in the mood.

Think beyond penetration- If scared about going all the way to full blown sex because youre tired, think out of the box by engaging in alternative sex such as kissing, touching, intimate massage/mutual masturbation.

Share the chores- Splitting household chores will make you less stressed and tired. This can hopefully pave way for you to willingly go to bed and enjoy sex rather than collapsing like a dead log on the bed.

Health issues- Its very possible that low libido caused by medical issues may actually be responsible for feeling exhausted. Stress, depression and anxiety not only sap energy, but can lead to decreased sex drive in both the man and wife. This can cause erectile dysfunction or vaginal dryness, making intercourse feel uncomfortable.

Always be sure to incorporate sexual lube into your sex fun in case vaginal dryness is an issue. Note that some medications can make you sleepy or may have sexual side effects too. The more reason to seek medical advice if you think its a sexual condition.

Enjoy sex whenever and wherever you can- Night time out might not work for some partners, but, you can always take advantage of early morning sex or set a timer for half an hour earlier for mating.

Try having a regular date night to recharge your sexual batteries and rediscover sexual intimacy and pleasure!
