Shan George advises Police Command to stop dismissing erring officers
Nollywood actress, Shan George has urged the Police command to stop dismissing incompetent officers and start using other forms of discipline.
Corporal Opeyemi Kadiri of the Nigeria Police Force was dismissed for gross misconduct, disobedience to a court order, and assaulting a member of the public. He was initially assigned to the Dolphin Divisional Headquarters of the Lagos Police Command.
The men of the Force are to maintain professionalism and civility to members of the public in the discharge of their duties in accordance with existing laws, and those who act contrary will face the law, according to Police Spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who announced the dismissal in a statement on Friday.
In response to the dismissal, Shan George advised the Police Force on Saturday to demote, re-orient, or reduce salaries rather than entirely removing the offending officers and dismissing them.

“As long as they didn’t kill anyone. suspend them, demote them, cut down their salary re-orientate them, but don’t dismiss Policemen.”
