How to stay organised everyday

Orderliness doesn’t come naturally to everyone, but with a few simple tweaks though, time has proven that anyone can become more organised and completely improve their overall life.

Here are some tips to help you handle the chaos of everyday life, stay organised each day and get more things done in a completely less-stressed manner, both at home and in the workplace.

Wake up early
People who wake up early gain a head start over their competition. This isn’t difficult to fathom: the quiet of the dawn offers fewer distractions, providing a serene backdrop for strategising, reading, exercising, or rare moments of solitude.
In fact, nearly two-thirds of successful CEOs say they wake up earlier than 6 a.m.
Waking up early also lets you take a moment to say a little prayer, make your daily to-do list and get yourself set for the day.

Make a to-do list
The more you try to mentally track things in your brain, the less productive you’ll be each day. The first step to planning your day is, therefore, to get your plans out of your head and put down on a to-do list. You can use a notebook or notepad to write down.
Once you have all of your to-dos written down, planning your time so that every activity fits into your day becomes easy.

Build a routine

We all have habits that have solidified in our lives over the years and routines that determine our actions without conscious thought. The question is whether these habits are intentional or simply the result of inertia. Habits such as sleeping eight hours each night, reading for at least 1 hour every evening, making time for friends and family, and setting boundaries between work and life can make a whole lot of difference in your daily life.
The trick: follow a weekday and weekend schedule.

Create a dedicated spot for each item
One of the easiest ways to keep yourself organised is to know where things you use regularly are! That way, you can accomplish more without getting overwhelmed. In the workplace, this means you can do more high-impact work without feeling burned out. When you can see all of your work in one place, it’s easier to prioritise tasks and make sure that the most important items get done.
At home, if you keep essentials in specific spots, you also won’t have to waste time around the house looking for them.

Prioritise appropriately
One way to make juggling all of life’s demands easier is to intentionally prioritise. To make time for what’s important to you, get comfortable with saying, “no”.
Prioritisation is a key strategy to organising your life. By declining what doesn’t serve your highest goals, you can give your laser focus to what matters.
