The Osumare Collection, thoughtfully curated by Margaret Oluwatosin Adedoyin, the creative mind behind the brand Fashion Array, is a bold and expressive fashion statement that draws deeply from the Yoruba culture while aligning seamlessly with modern design sensibilities.

Named after “Oṣùmàrè”, a Yoruba deity that embodies the spirit of the rainbow, this collection is a visual metaphor for unity in diversity, vibrancy in identity, and harmony through contrast.

Through an intelligent use of African prints, deliberate styling, and storytelling through fabric, Margaret presents a distinctive collection that is both rooted in tradition and forward-looking.

At its core, the Osumare Collection lies the essence of the rainbow—colorful, diverse, layered, and deeply symbolic. Margaret doesn’t simply use color for visual effect; she uses it as a storytelling device. This theme is visually articulated in the standout piece: a multi-tiered gown with cascading ruffled panels of Ankara fabric in rich and vivid hues, orange, red, yellow, green, and blue.

Each layer is not merely decorative but reflective of the diversity within African culture and the spiritual vibrance of Oṣùmàrè, a figure associated with continuity, duality, and beauty. The ruffled layers move with a rhythm that mirrors the energy of the woman wearing it, celebrating fluidity without compromising elegance.

The asymmetrical white bodice, accented with delicate floral trimming, adds refinement and balance to the colorful tiers below.

Another key look features a matching peplum blouse and high-waisted shorts. Here, Margaret leans into structure and versatility. The blouse, with its sculpted waist and sharp collar, brings polish to the otherwise relaxed silhouette. Paired with tailored shorts in a vibrant green print, the outfit reflects the everyday practicality that modern women often seek, without sacrificing creativity. It’s a well-thought-out piece, one that reflects Margaret’s understanding of form, functionality, and flair.

There’s a noticeable shift in mood, and the collection might benefit from a piece that bridges both worlds more seamlessly, tying the narrative arc tighter from start to finish.
